Lee was born with a beard and a natural ability to perform. Starting off in theatre Lee has played many roles in many shows and has even written a few himself. From playing serious heartfelt roles, to comedic dress-wearing bearded ladies, his acting talents are not to be laughed at…… although Chris did laugh a lot at the latter. Lee joined Chris in 2005 to become the anchor of Me and Him. As a very talented rhythm guitarist and singer Lee has also been known to play bass from time to time. With the top end of his vocal range leaving dolphins feeling inadequate he makes some fantastic harmonies as well as singing lead. Lee was one of Chris’s best men at his wedding and takes great delight in repeating the best man’s song he wrote for Chris on his special day.
Chris’s words on working with Lee
It’s a gift to get the chance to work with a best friend. He’s dedicated and always keeps me laughing. Since the age of five we have been next door neighbours, mates, best man, groom, and colleagues. He just won’t stop following me about…….. (just kidding Lee)! We first met through a hole in the fence of our back gardens, where Lee would be playing with mud, and I was attempting to roller skate on the grass (this is not easy and I would not recommend it to anyone) as my mum thought it too dangerous on the concrete. Lee has been an inspirational friend ever since. Although he still plays with mud.
Chris started singing at an age where he had to remove a dummy to do so. In his teens he won national singing competitions and started gigging professionally. This was when Chris felt he wanted to push his musical abilities further and started drumming, playing piano and guitar (not all at the same time although I am sure he would have a try). This was all made easier with access to his father’s recording studio at home. This also sparked his interest in writing, producing and engineering music. Chris comes from a long family line of musicians, his father being his role model and at an early age gave him a great bit of advice…… “son, do not get involved in the music business if you want to be successful”. Of course Chris being a teenager at the time completely ignored this, and has continued to do so way into his 30’s. Chris has played in three original music bands over the years (two of them with Lee) then moved on to play in a covers duo with his father. After his father’s retirement in 2005 he could think of only one person to continue this musical life with…..unfortunately Paul Weller was not available so Lee was drafted in.
Lee’s words on working with Chris
Since I have been a part of Me and Him I have met some amazing people and been part of some amazing parties! I spend all weekend at people’s parties surrounded by great people in a great atmosphere where all people want is to have a fantastic time and enjoy themselves! Only downside is I have to spend all that time with Chris…………. Well… What ya gonna do!
